Wildlife Wardens Imo and Caius took Claire Manning from ITV Westcountry News out on our patrol boat to talk to her about the Exe Estuary wildlife refuges and the landing zone at Dawlish Warren.

See the ITV Westcountry News article here.

We are asking for all visitors to keep out of the refuges as they are critically important areas for wildlife, which can be affected if they are frequently disturbed. The refuge at Exmouth is in place from 15th September - 31st December whilst the refuge at Dawlish Warren is in place all year.

The refuges were established in 2018 to help overwintering birds rest and feed so that they can recuperate from migration flights of up to 3000 miles, survive the winter and return to breed next spring.
