Description

This walk passes through several different sections of woodland on Haldon hill with a mixture of both coniferous and deciduous trees.

Park at the Mamhead Sensory Trail just of the A380 (free) and take the path in the north-west corner of the car park. Follow the blue arrows signed ‘long loop’ on level pathways through the woodland until you reach the Mamhead Obelisk  - constructed in 1742 to help guide ships into the Exe Estuary.

Just along from the obelisk is a viewing area which looks out over the entire estuary. Continue following the blue arrows back to the car park.

This walk is suitable for dogs off lead.
